Care and Maintenance
No two kitchens are alike. Different kitchen layouts and appliances are just the beginning. Different materials for counter tops and cabinets can be crucial difference markets when it comes to care and maintenance.
If you just had RRP do some renovation on your kitchen layouts, we know you’ll want to make the most of it. So here are some pieces of advice on how to better care for it. Whether it’s the kitchen cabinets Perth or the appliances, a little maintenance can go a long way.
For a laminate counter top or bench top, avoid anything too strong. They could damage the surface.
Hot objects and electrical appliances straight from the oven or cooker shouldn’t be put on the laminated surface. You want to avoid cutting directly on top of it, either – use a cutting board.
For stone counter tops, warm soapy water is the recommended daily cleaning solution. If there is a stain that is persistent, use a blade to chip away the excess and a mild detergent to fix the rest.
Do not use strong chemicals. Stone might be durable, but it’s not indestructible. Continued use of these can cause permanent damage.
Don’t use floor polishes or waxes on timber surfaces, whether it’s kitchen cabinets Perth or storage closets. Just use a dry, soft cloth to wipe away stains as they occur.
Try to avoid using sharp objects on laminated cabinet surfaces. These can leave permanent scratches, even if the material is scratch resistant.
Don’t use more abrasive creams, powders, and other cleaning materials on laminated surfaces. These can warp the appearance permanently. Liquid cleaners are excellent choices.
No matter what type of material is used, be sure to wipe the handle areas regularly. Natural oils from human skin can seep into the material and discolour or damage it over time.
Be sure to clean grease stains as soon as cooking is done!
