We can help you choose better tiles.
One of the challenges in tile-based work is when the client isn’t sure what tiles to use. Our designers and decorates can help take away some of that problem. Apart from years of experience and an eye for the best decor and designs, they also know what to keep in mind to choose the right tiles.
For starters, you want to consider the colours of the tiles.
Tile colours should be chosen to coordinate with the rest of the room.
That means you probably should not get dark purple tiles when the room is primarily light greens and other spring colours. If the cupboards or fixtures in the chamber are shiny chrome, don’t get something that clashes with what’s already there.
Floor tiles should match the colours of the room because they will be there for years. Many will choose a more neutral colour, so it blends in no matter what the motif. In some case, darker tiles are better if the room gets a lot of natural lighting.
Fun fact: glossy black floor tiles show dirt more than lighter colours do, but they also look much nicer.
Pattern and size are also considerations. It is possible to affix a tile in a variety of ways, but the standard is to use brick bonding or staggering.
However, as long as you plan things out ahead of time, anything goes. You just need to remember that patterns may look better laid out in a certain way. If the tiles are too big, you may find your options limited as well.
Finally, you need to choose between ceramic or porcelain.
Many people find porcelain the better choice of material. The higher density makes it perfect for bathrooms because they don’t soak up water. However, their strength also means that they are harder to cut and drill through, which can slow down installation – or make it more expensive.
Our tiling process is simple, efficient, and comprehensive.
Our first step is making sure the surface is cleaned. We’ll remove things like residual adhesives, mortar, or existing flooring. This allows us to have a “clean slate” before we do our work and gives us a glimpse into any possible issues that may occur.
If we encounter a wood sub-floor, we coat it in cement first.
After that, we begin laying out the tiling Perth. Sometimes, this is according to a set pattern chosen beforehand. In rare cases, we can also handle making a choice ourselves or laying out the options so you can pick right before we start.
In many cases, we combine aesthetics with practicality in our efforts. We minimize cutting the tiles. Most of the time, centering the tiles on the floor works best. However, this can vary from room to room, and we don’t make any assumptions until we see the space.
If we have approval on the layout, we start placing the tiles along pre-set guidelines. This allows us to minimize mistakes and keep things according to the design.
We also take measurements for border tiles before we start cutting. Not all tiles fit well enough that the border tiles don’t need to be cut.
Once all the tiles are in place, we apply grout. Grout is used on the joints and given a few minutes to set before the excess is wiped away. After that, we use sealant, and the work is done.
We focus on quality and efficiency.
Whatever room is getting tiled, we know you want it done quickly and efficiently. You don’t want to have to wait for an extended period before being able to use that space again. RRP understands this, so we do what we can to streamline the process without sacrificing any steps.
Our goal is to give you the best tiling Perth can provide, but without taking up too much time. We can’t give out estimates on length, but we can guarantee that we are working as fast as possible. We know that your time is precious, and wouldn’t dream of wasting even a minute of it.
